Where Are You Located?
Our administrative office is located in Apache Junction, Arizona, but all of our programs are offered 100% online, making them accessible to students across California and nationwide.
Is ADCSI an Accredited Institution?
Yes. Our programs are approved by CCAPP and CADTP, California’s two main certifying bodies for substance use disorder counseling education.

How Long Does It Take to Complete a Program?

• Recovery Coaching/Intervention:

Are Your Courses Self-Paced?
Yes. All courses are designed to be self-paced, giving you the flexibility to learn on your own schedule while still receiving support from our instructors and success team.
Certification and Licensing Questions
Will I Be Certified When I Complete the Program?
Our SUD Counseling Certificate Program fulfills the educational requirements needed to become certified through CCAPP or CADTP. However, certification is a multi-step process that includes
1. Completing coursework
2. Completing 255 hours of externship
3. Passing the state exam
4. Applying for certification with the appropriate board
What Is the Difference Between SUDRC and SUD Counselor Certification?
• SUDRC (Registered Counselor):
- Entry-level registration that allows you to work in a treatment facility
- Requires the 9-hour orientation course
• SUD Counselor Certification:
- Full credentialing after completing coursework, externship, and exam
- Higher level of responsibility and employment opportunity
Can I Use This Certification Outside of California?
Our programs are designed to meet California standards, but many concepts and credentials are recognized or transferable in other states. Always check with your state’s board or licensing body.
